Meet Lydia

Lydia Scaltsas is the Founder and Director of LS Tuition and holds a First-Class Honours degree in Primary Education. With experience across Early Years through S1, she has worked in both classroom and one-to-one settings, developing a carefully considered educational framework rooted in progression and learner wellbeing.

Lydia supports children across all ages and stages, with particular expertise in entrance examination preparation and complex or trauma-informed learning needs. Her work integrates academic rigour with psychological understanding, ensuring that confidence, emotional security, and intellectual challenge develop together.

Under Lydia’s leadership, LS Tuition has grown into a structured learning environment built on clear curriculum progression and the belief that every child can access excellence when supported appropriately. Her approach combines high expectations with relational depth, creating learning experiences that are both ambitious and emotionally secure.

1) Lydia is originally from Greece and speaks fluent Greek! Καλώς ήρθατε στο LS Tuition!

2) Lydia loves to sing! If she had not become a teacher, she probably would have been a singer.

3) Lydia’s favorite films are Moana and Encanto. Anything with a good tune to get her singing along on the sofa.

Meet Mhari-Anne

Mhari-Anne holds a Master of Arts in Primary Education and has extensive experience teaching across primary stages in both mainstream and international school settings. Her academic background, combined with her Master’s in Psychology, has strengthened her understanding of child development and how children learn best.

Mhari-Anne supports learners across the primary curriculum and into early secondary, with particular strength in Mathematics and preparation for entrance examinations. She is experienced in guiding pupils through upper primary, the transition to secondary, and up to S2 level, ensuring both academic rigour and confidence are developed together.

Her approach balances high expectations with emotional awareness. She believes that strong foundations, clear progression, and positive self-belief are essential to meaningful success, and she works carefully to ensure each learner feels capable, secure, and motivated in their journey.

1) Mhari-Anne has an identical twin sister…so if you think you’re seeing double, you probably are!

2) Mhari-Anne is super sporty and loves netball, rugby and athletics.

3) Mhari-Anne’s favourite film is Megamind and she has watched it over 40 times!

Meet Ashley

Ashley holds a PGDE in Primary Teaching and has worked across a wide range of primary school stages, building strong, supportive relationships with her learners. Her classroom and one-to-one experience have allowed her to develop a thoughtful and adaptable teaching style, rooted in clarity, structure, and trust.

While Ashley supports children across the full primary curriculum, she has particular expertise in working with learners with additional support needs and guiding pupils through the transition from Primary to Secondary school. She understands how pivotal these stages can be and works carefully to ensure children feel academically prepared and emotionally confident as they move forward.

Ashley’s teaching is grounded in the belief that progress happens when children feel understood and capable. She brings patience, consistency, and encouragement to every lesson, helping learners build independence, resilience, and a strong sense of self-belief.

1) Ashley is dog-obsessed and has a beautiful Border Collie called Bonnie.

2) Ashley has been dancing since she was 7. She loves Ballroom dancing and has even danced in competitions!

3) Ashley’s favourite film is Pocahontas, and she loves to sing along!

Meet Nicole

Nicole holds a PGDE in Primary Teaching and brings experience across all primary stages. She is passionate about building positive relationships and creating engaging, inclusive learning environments where children feel safe to contribute and grow.

Nicole supports learners across the full primary curriculum, with particular focus on strengthening Literacy and Numeracy foundations in the middle primary years. She works carefully to identify gaps, rebuild confidence, and ensure that children develop secure understanding before moving forward.

With a strong belief in growth mindset, Nicole approaches each lesson with warmth and structure. She is committed to helping learners rediscover enjoyment in their work, build independence, and develop the skills and confidence needed for sustained progress.

1) Nicole loves to read. Last year she read 28 books!

2) Nicole has travelled to 19 different countries! She even lived in Australia for 9 months.

3) Nicole is a huge foodie and enjoys trying new recipes.

Meet Sabrina

Sabrina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education Studies (Primary) and has worked across a variety of primary settings, with particular strength in Early Years and lower primary. Her grounding in child development allows her to tailor her teaching to each child’s stage, ensuring lessons are accessible, structured, and confidence-building.

While Sabrina supports learners across the full primary curriculum, she has particular experience supporting children with additional support needs. She understands the importance of creating a calm, secure learning environment where children feel safe to engage, take risks, and grow in confidence.

She brings a nurturing and encouraging presence to every session and believes that strong foundations in the early years are key to long-term academic success. By combining warmth with clear progression, Sabrina helps children build both the skills and self-belief needed to thrive.

1) When she’s not teaching, you’ll find Sabrina in the kitchen, whipping up delicious treats. She loves experimenting with new recipes and turning her bakes into works of art.

2) Sabrina takes her iced coffee very seriously. With an endless collection of flavoured syrups, she’s mastered the art of crafting the perfect cup.

3) Sabrina has a keen eye for style and loves curating her wardrobe – so much so that her family jokes it might collapse one day!

Meet the Operations and Support Team

The friendly team keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes at LS Tuition.

Natalie is our Marketing and Internal Operations Manager, working across both the public-facing and behind-the-scenes work of LS Tuition.

From overseeing our brand and social media to streamlining systems and supporting the team, Natalie keeps a lot of plates spinning and somehow makes it look easy!

Although she officially joined us full-time in 2025, Natalie has been part of LS Tuition since the beginning, lending a hand with everything from design to logistics over the years. Her background in Communications and Marketing, paired with a sharp eye for strategy and organisation, means she’s perfectly placed to help us grow and thrive.

Whether she’s planning our next big campaign or making sure the printer finally works (again), Natalie is a cornerstone of our leadership team – and we’re so lucky to have her.

Natalie and Lydia actually went to school together and became friends in choir!

Marissa is our website manager and also works on our digital marketing. She has been working with LS Tuition since 2023 and loves being part of such a fun and friendly team.

Marissa has worked in web design and online marketing for over 10 years. She loves building beautiful websites that help businesses share their work with the world. She also holds a BA Scottish Music from the RCS and has been a well respected and sought after music tutor for nearly 20 years.

Marissa stays very busy with her family and dog!

Marissa loves powerlifting and getting lost in a good book.
