1. Initial Assessment

Your child’s initial assessment is a structured and supportive introduction to their tutor and our approach. The assessment is guided by LS Tuition’s carefully developed in-house Literacy and Numeracy progressions, aligned with both the Scottish and English curricula.

Through targeted tasks and discussion, we establish strengths, identify gaps, and determine a clear starting point within our progression pathways.

This enables us to design a personalised tuition pathway while ensuring your child feels confident, understood, and ready to engage.

2. Parent Meeting

Following the assessment, we meet with parents or carers to share our findings and discuss your child’s learning profile in detail.

We outline a personalised starting point, explain the key areas of focus, and provide clear next steps within our progression framework.

This meeting ensures alignment, clarity, and confidence in the plan moving forward. It also gives space for questions, discussion, and shared understanding as we begin the journey together.

3. Weekly Tuition

Weekly lessons are tailored to your child’s individual needs and build deliberately over time.

Each session strengthens understanding, consolidates foundations, and extends learning where appropriate, guided by clear structure and responsive teaching.

Our structured, relational approach supports steady academic progress while building confidence, independence, and a secure, lasting relationship with learning.

Progress is reviewed regularly to ensure continued growth and purposeful development.

The LS Tuition Learning Space

At LS Tuition, we believe that the environment a child learns in plays an important role in their confidence, engagement, and success. Our Learning Space has been thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming and inspiring place where children feel comfortable, motivated, and ready to learn.

Learning is most meaningful when it is holistic. Every area of the LS Tuition classroom encourages children to actively engage with their learning in a supportive and positive environment.

Students might relax with a book in the Library Corner alongside a furry reading friend, celebrate their achievements on the LS Tuition Wall of Fame, or build number confidence using our Wall Caterpillar to count to 100. The Mindfulness Area offers a calm space to pause, talk through emotions, and reset before continuing their learning.

Children can also choose a positive affirmation, set lesson intentions, explore our wide range of hands-on resources, or enjoy problem-solving and creative thinking in the Imagination Station.

Every detail of the LS Tuition classroom has been designed through the eyes of a child, creating a friendly, supportive space where students can grow in confidence and develop a lasting love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.
